ENGINE TEST BENCH

LAM has designed and overhauled an engine testing bench which can meet the most demanding industrial and research requirements. Experimental tests of internal and external combustion engines are carried out in this facility. It has been designed seeking for the most versatility as possible. The facility has at its disposal the appropriate regulation and control elements and systems to make the engine work under conditions similar to its final application. This design enables to carry out a wide range of different test, always fulfilling the European Normative:

• Basic: torque, power and specific consumption.
• Thermal: overtemperature, thermal shock and energy balance.
• Maintenance and fatigue: durability, failure prediction and fouling.
• Pollutants: nitrogen oxides (CLD), hydrocarbons (FID), carbon monoxide and dioxide (NDIR).
• Alternative fuels: gasoline and alcohol blends, natural gas, low heating value gases, hydrogen, biogases, etc.
