USE OF HYDROGEN IN ENGINES

Currently, there is an increasing tendency to replace fossil fuels by alternative fuels, in which context, hydrogen shows a significant potential. In recent years the potential of internal combustion engines to run on hydrogen while keeping a good efficiency and low pollutant emissions has been confirmed. Therefore, the use of hydrogen as fuel in these engines (pure or blended) represents a good strategy to speed up the diffusion process towards to a hydrogen culture. Two projects carried out within the framework of national research plans make LAM one of the pioneers in the use of hydrogen in engines.
